South Nation Conservation (SNC) is planning the extension of Ottawa’s Findlay Creek Boardwalk within the Leitrim Wetland, thanks in part to a $750,000 investment from the Government of Canada through Canada’s Community Revitalization Fund.
South Nation Conservation is extending the Water Safety Statement issued December 31st, 2022, across the South Nation Conservation jurisdiction.

Weather Forecast: Environment Canada is forecasting major winter storm late this week into the holiday weekend. Precipitation may begin as rain or snow late Thursday before possibly transitioning to rain in many areas by early Friday. Temperatures are expected to plummet on Friday leading to a potential flash freeze for locations that receive rainfall.
Rainfall amounts up to 25 mm are expected by Friday afternoon, followed by approximately 10 cm of snow by end of evening.

The Raisin-South Nation Source Protection Committee has announced that retired farmer and active community member, Ray Beauregard, was recently re-appointed by the Ontario Minister of Environment, Conservation and Parks for this important role under Ontario’s Clean Water Act, 2006.
