30-Oct-2019 30-Oct-2019

South Nation Conservation (SNC) is issuing a Water Safety Statement for its jurisdiction in Eastern Ontario.

Weather Forecast:
Significant rainfall of 30 to 50 mm is forecasted for October 30th until November 1st, 2019.

Environmental Conditions:
Water levels across the jurisdiction are normal for this time of year but are expected to increase within the coming days.

Risks:
Rainfall is likely to produce high water levels and possible nuisance flooding in low-lying areas across the jurisdiction.

ACTION:
Residents are advised to exercise caution when near rivers as the forecasted weather may rapidly increase river flows and cause slippery riverbanks. Parents are encouraged to explain these dangers to their children.

Duration:
This statement is in effect until Friday, November 8th, 2019 at 5:00 PM.

SNC monitors the water levels and weather forecasts as part of the Flood Forecasting and Warning Program. Updates are provided as conditions change.
