Since 2000, South Nation Conservation (SNC) has proudly supported the City of Ottawa’s Green Acres Reforestation Program which has helped to plant over 400,000 trees within the SNC jurisdiction in the City of Ottawa.

The program was created to help achieve and maintain the City’s Official Plan target of 30% forest cover. The Green Acres Program is delivered by the Ottawa Conservation Partners (Mississippi Valley, Rideau Valley, and South Nation Conservation Authorities) on behalf of the City of Ottawa.

In 2021, Green Acres hit its 2 millionth tree milestone for trees planted on private property within the City of Ottawa through this program!
