WATERSHED CONDITIONS: WATER SAFETY STATEMENT
Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing for most of the week.
Water levels across the watershed are high for this time of the year. Precipitation gauges across the jurisdiction recorded 40 mm of rain over the weekend.
Due to last weekend’s significant rainfall as well as snowmelt, the watershed is experiencing higher than normal water levels.
Residents are advised to exercise caution when near watercourses as flows may rapidly increase and cause slippery or unstable banks. Residents are also advised to stay off all frozen bodies of water. Parents are encouraged to explain these dangers to their children.
This statement is in effect until Tuesday, January 21, 2020.
