Alicia is a Traditional Medicine Practitioner and healer who lives and works in Akwesasne. Her recent accomplishments within the community are vast and far reaching. She has been involved with the 2-year education program which connects Onkwehonwe to their ‘roots’ (pun intended) and back to nature. She also carries western knowledge as she studied Nursing and uses these two facets of knowledge in her everyday applications.

She plans to bring awareness to the cycle of illness, and how the body should be cared for to properly recoup, as well some at home tricks of the trade to improve overall health. She will also share the message of the importance of listening to the body, seeking help from different types of healers and inspire attendees to make better choices. In my initial chats with her we covered everything from the body systems to the importance of eating healthy, naturally occurring foods that are unique to our environment.

While her social media presence is not yet reached its peak, she remains easy to find via her email, webpage, or personal Facebook where she accepts messages from people who she has not yet met.
