As part of National Wildlife Week (April 10th – 16th, 2016), a Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF) initiative, this year marks the 100th anniversary of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. As such, the CWF theme for National Wildlife Week this year is “Giving Wings to Wildlife Conservation.” The Friends of the Bird Sanctuary is hosting in partnership with SNC a free Education Day for local schools groups on Tuesday, April 12th (at the Upper Canada Bird Sanctuary - County Road #2, 11 km east of Morrisburg) as part of National Wildlife Week, a Canadian Wildlife Federation initiative (from April 10th-April 16th ).
Education Day will include:
- Wood Box building workshop – students will learn about Wood Ducks and build Wood Duck boxes to be installed at the Bird Sanctuary
- Nature wildlife walk – guided nature walk through the Bird Sanctuary with a focus on wildlife and birds
