St. Lawrence River Student Summit


ST. LAWRENCE RIVER STUDENT SUMMIT - October 16 - 18, 2017

South Nation Conservation is pleased to partner with Ontario’s Ministry of Education and the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change to host the 2017 St. Lawrence River Student Summit. This Summit aims to increase students’ connections and awareness of the Great Lakes, St. Lawrence River ecosystem by inviting Specialist High Skills Major school boards to participate in Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship (ICE) training. Below are the event details: • What: St. Lawrence River Student Summit • When: Monday October 16, 2017 - Wednesday October 18, 2017 • Where: Camp IAWAH, 304 Iawah Road, Godfrey, ON K0H 1T0 Over the course of the three-day summit, students will learn about the importance of protecting and restoring freshwater ecosystems for future generations. ICE training provides students with an opportunity to work through watershed scale issues, while at the same time developing problem solving skills to improve their local environment. On the last day of the summit, students will pitch their innovative ideas to a panel of Great Lakes - St. Lawrence River decision-makers in Kingston!
