Save the Date!  On May 11, South Nation Conservation (SNC) will be opening its doors to schools and the public for an exciting event to celebrate their 70 years of environmental conservation.

After nearly 300 participants from local schools end an Eco-Adventure Day at SNC, SNC’s public Open House will begin.  The Open House will take place at SNC’s Administration Office, 38 Victoria Street in Finch, ON, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  Everyone is welcome!

Attendees will enjoy free tree giveaways, children’s activities, light refreshments, office tours, and more.  Not only will guests be able to discuss SNC programs and services with staff, they will also get to visit exhibits of local artisans and partners.

Guests can also contribute to SNC’s 70th anniversary legacy project by painting a Dreamfish that will be assembled into a beautiful Stream of Dreams mural outside the SNC office.

“The last time SNC held an Open House was in 2010, shortly after our office moved from Berwick to Finch,” says Lisa Van De Ligt, SNC Communications Specialist.  “At that time, we were just unveiling our conference centre which is now a popular venue for the community to use free of charge.”  Community groups reserved SNC’s conference centre over 70 times last year.

“We look forward to sharing with the community how SNC has grown in their dedication to watershed management, environmental stewardship, and community engagement since our establishment in 1947,” says Van De Ligt.

Open house details and other 70th anniversary event information can be found on SNC’s events calendar at www.nation.on.ca/events
