Morning Session (River Workshop)

On Saturday, March 4th from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm the Upper St. Lawrence Protection Network will host a free Morning Workshop with River partners from 3 nations to look at our Great Waterway and assemble ideas on what we need to do to protect River health.

The St. Lawrence River is the basis of our quality of life and our economy.  It is our natural capital.  It defines our geography, biology and cultural heritage.  We cherish and respect its power and splendour.  We all have an interest in the health of the River and how it affects the environment because it influences the health, economic and social values of each of us. A Continental Breakfast will be served. Special presentations will be made on new invasive fish species in the St. Lawrence River and on protecting fish and wildlife habitat and against shoreline erosion.  Come and provide your thoughts and share your vision for this Great River.

Topics for Discussion:

  • What Should Be Our Focus for the River Over the Next Few Years?
  • What Kind of Activities / Projects Might Be Undertaken?
  • Who Should Be Involved?

To attend the Morning Workshop, Please RSVP by e-mailing 613-936-6620 (ext. 229) or e-mail Karen Cooper at kcooper@riverinstitute.ca by March 1st (4 pm)
