Boat Launches

Casselman Lacroix Road Park River Access Point (formerly Route 400)

Casselman, Ontario : Off county Road 3

The newest South Nation River access point on the downstream side of the Casselman weir now allows boaters to travel a segment of the river that was previously inaccessible. However, the Lemieux landslide 8 km to the north-east of this site has made motor boating a challenge due to depth variability. The Lacroix Road Park public access site is located north-west of Casselman, off County Road #3 east of Limoges. Follow Baker Road north, cross the railway tracks and turn right onto Lacroix Road and follow it to the end.

Chesterville River Access Point

Chesterville, Ontario: Follow Queen Street

The river access park in Chesterville is found on Queen Street, joining Main street and Hwy 43. Enter the park on the south side of Queen street and boaters may travel upstream only, as the dam prevents downstream movement.

Crysler River Access Point

Crysler, Ontario: Follow Second Street

From County Road #12 (Queen Street), a river access ramp can be found upstream of the weir on the south side of the South Nation river. Follow Second street from Queen street and boaters may travel the river to the west, since the weir prevents downstream movement.

Séguin Bridge River Access Point

Between Fournier/Plantagenet, Ontario: County Road 9

This river access is situated just off of County Road # 9 between Fournier and Plantagenet on the west side of this road. The river access ramp is located underneath the bridge that spans over the South Nation River and is equipped with two metal tread bars to assist with boat launching.

Spencerville Mill, Historic Site and River Access Point

In the Village of Spencerville, a historic grist mill built on the north bank of the South Nation river and still standing today, has a canoe access immediately west of the stone building. Visitors can travel the headwaters of the South Nation River, however, downstream movement is blocked by the grist mill weir.
