If so, the Woodlot Advisory Service will benefit you!
The *new* Woodlot Advisory Service aims to promote
efficient & sustainable management of forests and the
establishment of additional forest cover in Stormont-
Dundas-Glengarry, Prescott-Russell, Leeds-Grenville
and Ottawa.
How will this be achieved?
A bilingual Woodlot Advisory Service Technician will assist you in becoming aware of the value of your forest and the benefits it can provide to you and your community. The technician will:

Visit your woodlot for preliminary evaluation of the site, suggest management options and introduce you to available programs that will allow you to meet your objectives for the property

Provide you with contacts of local woodlot owner associations and forestry consultants who can assist you in achieving your objectives, including revenue-generation

Introduce you to the benefits of Forest Certification through S. D. & G. CFO and Boisés Est

Suggest workshops provided by the Woodlot Advisory Service partners
How is the service funded?
The Ontario Trillium Foundation and the United Counties of Prescott-Russell have funded the Service over a two-year period. South Nation Conservation coordinates the service from its Finch office with the active collaboration of S. D. & G. CFO, Boisés Est, and the Raisin Region Conservation Authority.
Eleven additional partners are supporting the program.
