Stream & Rain Gauge Network
SNC, in partnership with MNR, maintains a network of stream gauges, rain gauges and snow course sites within SNC's jurisdiction. This data can be used to quantify the components of the hydrologic cycle.
The data from the stream and rain gauges is analyzed by SNC's staff daily and used for different programs and project, like Flood Forecasting and Warning Program, Low Water Response Program, water control structures management, shoreline erosion repair.
It is the goal of SNC to expand the stream and rain gauges networks to cover its entire watershed in a near future. During 2006, two rain and a stream gauges have been installed.
